Raw Milk Vanilla Charm – Old-Fashioned & Farm-Fresh Ice Cream

A nostalgic, silky-smooth scoop of vanilla ice cream made the old-fashioned way—with rich raw milk, golden yolks, and a whole lot of country charm.

There’s something special about going back to basics—the kind of simple sweetness that takes you straight to a porch swing on a warm summer night. This ice cream, made with wholesome raw milk and just the right touch of vanilla, is a little nod to days gone by. It’s slow-churned comfort with a silky whisper of charm. Whether you’re serving it up for Sunday supper or sneakin’ a spoonful after dark, Raw Milk Vanilla Charm will have you fallin’ scoop over boots.

🍦 Ingredients

  • 1½ cups raw milk (we love Raw Farms)
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 3 tablespoons organic raw cane sugar or maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract (we recommend Simply Organic)
  • Pinch of fine sea salt

🧊 Instructions

  1. Whisk the egg yolks in a medium bowl until smooth and golden.
  2. Add the raw milk, cream, sugar or syrup, vanilla extract, and salt.
  3. Whisk until fully combined and silky smooth.
  4. Pour the mixture into your Creami pint container (or similar freezer-safe container).
  5. Freeze for 24 hours — good things come to those who wait, darlin’.
  6. When ready, place the frozen pint into your Ninja Creami and run it on the Ice Cream setting.
  7. If needed, Re-Spin once to get that perfect soft-churned texture.
  8. Serve immediately or dress it up with a drizzle of caramel, chocolate, or even a shot of espresso for a country-style affogato.

🍽 Serving Suggestions

  • Drizzle with caramelhoney, or dark chocolate sauce for extra indulgence.
  • Spoon over warm peach cobblerskillet brownies, or buttery cornbread cake.
  • Top with cinnamon-toasted pecans or fresh berries for a rustic twist.
  • Serve in vintage bowlsmason jars, or classic waffle cones for that Southern touch.
  • Feeling fancy? Pour a shot of hot espresso over a scoop for a country-style affogato — a cozy little moment where Italy meets the front porch.

🧊 Storage Tips

  • Keep in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 1 month.
  • If the texture becomes firm, let it sit out for 5–10 minutes or re-spin in the Creami with a splash of raw milk.
  • Avoid multiple thaw/refreeze cycles to preserve creaminess.

I’m Lorena

Hi there, I’m Lorena — the heart behind Cook With Wein — a proud mama, self-taught baker, and country-souled cook who believes a little butter and a lotta love can fix just about anything.

Ever since I was little, I’ve had a love for food and being in the kitchen. I grew up watching my mama and grandmas cook with heart and hands full of tradition. Between their old-school wisdom and a few happy kitchen accidents of my own, I picked up the basics and never looked back.

Here at Cook With Wein, I focus on real ingredients — the kind your grandma kept in her pantry — because I truly believe food should be your medicine, not just your meal. You’ll find old-fashioned favorites, sweet-from-scratch bakes, and comforting dishes meant to gather folks ’round the table.

I’m no fancy chef — just a gal who pours love into everything from pie crust to pot roast, and believes the best recipes come with a story. So pull up a chair, grab a fork, and let’s cook something that feels like home.
